How Tenant Screening for Landlords works

Registration

Before ordering any services, you must first register your details with us using our short registration form.

Registration is FREE for ALL Landlords and there are no hidden charges - you simply pay for the services you order, when you order them.

We ask you to provide your name, address and contact details.

Once you have completed the simple registration process you will receive an account number and password by email which will enable you to access the service and one of our account managers will contact you to help you get started.

Ordering

Our services are usually provided to landlords on a pay-as-you-order basis and because of this it is advisable to order online and make a card payment using our secure payment server. Our systems have been designed to be self-explanatory but below are some tips to help you get started.

Ordering a Credit Check online

To order a Credit Check online please login to your user account, click ‘Create New Application’ and select the Credit Check service.

You will be asked to enter the details of the property that is being applied for and the monthly rent for this property.

For each tenant or guarantor being checked you will need to enter their full name, date of birth, current address and previous address if less than three years at the current address.

Ordering a Full Profile online

To order a Full Profile online please login to your user account, click ‘Create New Application’ and select the Full Profile service.

You will be asked to enter the details of the property that is being applied for and the monthly rent for this property.

You then have two choices: enter the full details of each tenant or guarantor online now or send online applications to each person by email to enable them to enter their own details.

We recommend that applicants complete their own details as this is less time consuming for you .

Ordering a Company Check online

To order a Company Check online please login to your user account, click ‘Create New Application’ and select the Company Check service.

You will be asked to enter the details of the property that is being applied for and the monthly rent for this property.

You will need to have basic information on the company being checked such as the company name or registered number and contact details for someone based at the company concerned in case of any queries.

Sending online applications to your tenants/guarantors by email

When ordering a Full Profile application online you can opt to send online applications to your tenants by email.

Simply provide the name and email address of each prospective tenant or guarantor and we will send each person an email asking them to complete their application online.

You will be able to check the status of the application at any time and view their application details from within your account.

At the end of the process your tenant will be asked to print and return a signed declaration. This will authorise the applicants’ referees to respond to our enquiries; a fax or email scan will normally suffice.

Submitting paper application forms to us

If you prefer, you can give a paper application form to each prospective tenant/guarantor and return them to us when they have been completed. Please remember to add your account number to each form before sending them to us.

If you do not have a credit account with us we will contact you to take payment before processing begins.

Authorisation to carry out checks

It is against the law to carry out a Credit Check without first obtaining permission from the tenant. When ordering you will be asked to confirm that you have consent to carry out the check.

For Full Profile applications we require written consent and will obtain the necessary consent direct from them.

For Company Applications no consent is required but we advise you to make the company aware that we will be processing their application in case we need to make contact.

Completion Reports

For all services other than Online Credit Check you will receive an e-mail with your report attached in PDF format. Please ensure you provide a correct e-mail address on your registration.

To change the email address on your account please contact the Support Centre.
